Ethiopia: A history of coffee and its birthplace in Africa

For this story, I travelled back in time, to the days of tribesmen and kings, explorers and slaves.

Coffee has always been a popular commodity, once traded along with ivory, tortoise shell, gold, precious stones, silk and spices. Empires were built and crumbled and still, there was coffee.

This is the (shortened) history of coffee in Africa, starting with its birthplace in Ethiopia. My latest story for Perfect Daily Grind.
